Medical Science Liaison (MSL)
Position Purpose and Responsibilities
Corcept Therapeutics, Incorporated (www.corcept.com) is a leader in the discovery and development of drugs that regulate the effects of cortisol. Medical Science Liaisons (MSLs) are field-based Medical Affairs personnel who are involved in the following areas:
- Conduct one-on-one healthcare professional education
- Provide pro-active support of Corcept products related to education, and appropriate communication triaging of TLs, payers, and the core patient support services
- Respond to unsolicited questions regarding Corcept Therapeutics products and investigational agents
- Development and cultivation of strong relationships with national and local Thought Leaders (TLs), and organizations within the medical community
- Provide clinical input into Corcept medical and commercial communications and materials, as well as participate in internal training and development
- Lead and present scientific / clinical material at meetings and congresses
- Maintain the highest standards of scientific, clinical, and technical expertise in the specific assigned therapeutic area(s)
- Work with manager, peers, other Medical Affairs, Research & Development, and Commercial colleagues in the development and alignment of goals and activities
- Participate and provide input, when appropriate, in cross-functional planning meetings
- Gather intelligence, analyses, research, and reporting of national and regional issues and activities which may affect Medical Affairs and / or Commercial initiatives
- Build and cultivate relationships with internal cross-functional colleagues, and national / regional medical communities including study site investigators / staff, regional TLs, payers, and other healthcare professionals
- As appropriate, partner with Research & Development and Medical Affairs staff in support of educating and “trouble-shooting” issues with clinical trial sites, investigator-initiated trials, and other studies / investigations
- Work with cross-functional colleagues to help support development and planning / tactics for implementation and completion of Corcept Therapeutics initiatives, including:
- Clinical trials, studies and other clinical / scientific communications, patient registries, publications, clinical and scientific education, advisory boards, congresses, and other conferences / meetings
- Comply with company policies and applicable laws.
- Employees are required to read and understand company policies, complete required training, seek clarification when questions arise, and keep up with changes as their roles and responsibilities change
- Non-compliance with applicable laws, company policies, standard operating procedures and guidelines could lead to termination
- Complete special projects as assigned by management

Job Qualifications and Requirements
- PharmD / PhD or other equivalent clinical graduate degree or experience
- Prior field-based clinical / medical science liaison experience required
- Endocrinology and / or psychiatric knowledge desirable
- Demonstrated ability to understand and communicate scientific and medical information
- Knowledgeable in clinical, commercial, and regulatory issues affecting the pharmaceutical and managed care industries
- Experience in clinical trial design, logistics, and evaluation is desirable
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, as well as exceptional organization skills
- Must be willing to travel regionally approximately 60% of the time.
