Vice President, Endocrine and Metabolic Diseases (MD)

Job Description:

The Vice President, Endocrinology and Metabolic Diseases will be responsible for life cycle management and global planning management for the endocrinology franchise.


Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Phase 2 and, if successful, Phase 3 clinical program in Cushing's Syndrome
  • Lead the Phase 2 clinical program in NASH
  • Serve as a key member of the clinical/regulatory leadership of the company
  • Provide medical input into product development strategies
  • Serve as medical monitor for clinical trials as required
  • Develop strong working relationships with clinical investigators and experts
  • Lead the strategic development of clinical study protocols
  • Review and interpret clinical data
  • Co-author and review clinical sections of regulatory documents
  • Assist in the identification of new product opportunities
  • Operate within Compliance Guidelines at all times


Requirements:

  • MD in medical endocrinology or relevant field, preferred
  • 5+ years of clinical development within endocrinology/diabetes in pharma, biotech, or large academic centers


Preferred Skills, Qualifications, or Technical Proficiencies:

  • Track record of leading at least 1 Phase 3 trial; major contribution to the clinical section of an NDA preferred
  • Track record of mentoring new medical monitors preferred
  • Deep knowledge of and experience in clinical trial methodology and clinical development strategy across all development stages
  • Experience in designing, conducting and analyzing clinical studies ranging from Phase 1 to Phase 3
  • Thorough understanding of the regulatory environment in US and Europe
  • Experience in contribution to IND and NDA submissions
  • Excellent communications skills, both verbally and in writing
  • Able to build strong working relationships with medical experts in multiple therapeutic areas
